Are there company employees you want to have earn their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) but limiting factors include; the test is too hard, or preparing employees for the test is time and cost prohibitive. Premier Workforce Training and Development (PWTD) provides an excellent employer sponsored, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) written test workshop, that prepares your employees to take the examination.
As your company grows, or is looking to invest in, develop and promote employees from within, this workshop is what you desire. The CDL-Written test workshop will aid your employees in obtaining their CDL learners permit. Once your employees have their learners permit, they can work with your internal SME’s (i.e. driver trainer), to practice driving, become comfortable behind the wheel and prepare for the driving portion of the CDL examination.
Your employees will learn from an instructor with years of training and driving experience and who possess an active Class-A CDL. We provide comprehensive training and support services to help facilitate your employees understanding and comfort with taking the written portion of the CDL examination.
The Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) written test workshop is 5-days in length, and is designed to prepare attendees to take the written portion of the CDL examination, and a review of the practical application of key concepts for commercial drivers. The workshop will include training on the following topics:
- Driving Safely
- Transporting Cargo
- Air Brakes
- Combination Vehicles
- Doubles and Triples
- Tanker Vehicles
- Pre-trip and Post-trip Inspections
- Basic Vehicle Controls
- Skills Test Review
- On the Road Driving Test Review
- Special Requirements for Texas Commercial Motor Vehicles
- Vehicle walk-around
As a part of the workshop, PWTD will need to have access to one of your company’s commercial vehicles which will be used during the vehicle walk-around and inspection portions of the workshop, and an experienced company driver who will operate the vehicle.
